История любви на фоне революции представлена в нашумевшем спектакле «Надеждины». Евгений Надеждин — молодой революционер, сосланный за свои идеи из Харькова в Кишинев, интеллектуал и принципиальный публицист, который был товарищем и главным оппонентом Ленина. Советская власть уничтожила его, а современники предали его забвению.
Его возлюбленная, Мелания Севрук, является прабабушкой Маши Машковой, популярной актрисы и новой звезды Голливуда («For All Mankind», «I.S.S.» и другие). Эта удивительная история, происходящая на фоне крушения империи, легла в основу постановки.
Маша Машкова на сцене воссоздает драматические события прошлого, которые удивительным образом перекликаются с настоящим. Голос Евгения Надеждина, звучащий в спектакле, принадлежит еще одной знаменитости — Анатолию Белому. Спектакль наполнен динамикой, множеством режиссерских приемов, спецэффектами, теневым театром, анимацией и кинопроекцией, создавая впечатление, будто на сцене действует не одна актриса, а целый коллектив.
